How To Make Sense Of Relationships

Relationships present the most complex challenges in life. We are all different in the way we think, speak, interpret and feel. We spend so much of our time feeling misunderstood or unheard.

Based on the success of “How to make sense of your life”, here we explore the challenges and joys of more intimate relationships. This book takes the reader on a journey through all aspects and complexities of a relationship. It covers more challenging relationships, explores the highs and lows of new love and looks at the difficulties of ending a relationship. The features of a healthy relationship are explored with tips on how you can develop new habits to improve your own. A powerful theme throughout the book looks at the relationship you have with yourself and how that impacts on other relationships.

This book is exceptional. In a straightforward, guided, gentle manner, Alison takes the hand of the reader and shows them another way. Perhaps it’s by holding up a mirror and reflecting our true projection to others or allowing us a peek at how it might be on the other side of the relationship fence. Her approach in non-judgemental but does make you have a good think, recognising we can all be too quick to play the victim. By working at what we have, we can sometimes turn our issues around and make it better for everyone involved. I particularly like the practical activities and self reflection, these exercises are quick and easy to put into practice. Well done!

Since purchasing this book it has helped me realise how complex relationships can be and how to deal with them. As someone in their early twenties, it’s hard to sometimes know exactly how to deal with certain relationship situations but this book has helped with that a lot.

I loved this book from start to finish. Even though I have been married for years, it still taught me a few things and, more importantly, made me see that my strange behaviour and reactions are normal. Alison’s book talks plain and simple which I loved. This book isn’t just about sexual relationships. It covers a lot more including your relationship with yourself. Five stars. A fabulous book
