Coaching is about getting the very best out of you and enabling you to make decisions that will improve your life. It is about unlocking your potential for success in all areas of your life. Coaching identifies the things you would like to change, where you would like to be in the future, and then focuses and supports you to take action. The results can be very powerful and the coach encourages you to always be thriving towards your goals, hopes and dreams.
In Coaching with 2minds, we work with the client to discover and utilise their own most productive strategies, values and other modalities already at his disposal, those which are not being utilised to the most benefit. The focus is on the client achieving their goals and objectives.
In NLP Coaching, we don’t offer advice as to what to do – we coach the client HOW to utilise their own capabilities and already present strategies and values. By discovering and understanding the client’s intrinsic abilities, we can assist in maximising those abilities and so to make it possible for the client to take actions necessary to achieve his/her desired results.
NLP Coaching concentrates on the Client implementing the best strategies to achieve the desired goals and objectives.
3 Core areas of NLP coaching
Goals – Values – Beliefs
Life is a series of small decisions each one seems inconsequential yet they add up.
Opposite to goal setting is problem solving – focus on what is wrong. NLP coaching ensures that the focus is on clarity of the goal and how it will be achieved along with maintaining this focus on achievement not on what could go wrong.
All goals are generated by values.
You need to respect the value that generates the goal e.g. man wants to show love to his family and works long hours to give them all they want … all are unhappy as he is never home.
Once we find the core value behind the goal we will ensure that the actions needed will help generate the goal being achieved through the need to find out how the client can live and respect the value towards the goal. Value and goal alignment is critical and with NLP techniques we ensure this is the case.
Beliefs – Whether we believe we can or we cant … We are right !
We focus on creating belief that the goal will be achieved. Positive thinking is very powerful and at 2minds, we help the client remove any limiting beliefs that would potentially jeopardise the success. Where our clients doubt a successful outcome then this is likely to be exactly what they will achieve. NLP coaching will remove any thought and behavioural strategies that we run in our mind that provide any doubt or belief through a number of tools and techniques.
Together we identify any limiting beliefs that the client may have even if they don’t know they have it. When we ask a client what stops them achieving their goals then often this will be a limiting belief.
Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP)
NLP consists of a set of powerful tools and techniques for maximising potential in a person. It focuses on how the mind works, how we communicate both with ourselves and with others and our patterns of behaviour. Changes using NLP can be made quickly and permanently. It reprogrammes your unconscious mind and frees you of unwanted beliefs and limiting decisions you have made about yourself.
NLP coaching facilitates change through verbal and non –verbal communication (questions, reflections, explanations, tasks , guiding focus and exercises). NLP coaching promotes and supports clients to grow, learn and understand the neuroscience behind their thoughts and behaviours. It creates and facilitates change, elicits, selects, trains, asks meaningful questions, motivates, creates insight, explains, tasks, evokes, challenges, stimulates, supports and encourages clients self -expression.
Time Line Therapy
Time Line Therapy works on how our unconscious mind stores our memories and experiences. We all store time in a linear fashion, to help us differentiate between past, present and future. More significantly, we all store the meaning we have attached to our memories, including decisions we made at the time which ultimately create our beliefs about ourselves. These beliefs can be limiting, such as “I’m not good enough”, “I don’t deserve true love” or “I’ll never be rich” and they ultimately hold us back getting what we want out of life.
Time Line Therapy is used to find the root cause of a negative emotion or limiting decisions. Once identified, this root cause is released allowing you to let go of the limiting decisions and negative emotions that have been stored up.
Clean Language Coaching
Often people feel afraid of hypnosis but have you ever realised that when you have driven to work and can’t recall the journey, that a form of trance. Some people call it “automatic pilot”. Our unconscious mind takes over, leads us down a path and we are not aware of it. We don’t remember the journey because our mind is, in effect, driving for us.
One common misconception about hypnosis is that the Therapist controls the person while in a trance. This is not the case, the unconscious mind will only accept suggestions that are in line with your personal values.
Depending on the needs of the client, hypnosis is often used as part of the change work in the one to one sessions. Hypnosis is very effective with weight management, smoking cessation, eliminating stress, performance enhancement, pain control and increasing self esteem and confidence.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) is a talking therapy that can help you manage your problems by changing the way you think and behave. CBT is based on the concept that your thoughts, feelings, physical sensations and actions are interconnected, and that negative thoughts and feelings can trap you in a vicious cycle.
CBT aims to help you deal with overwhelming problems in a more positive way by breaking them down into smaller parts. You’re shown how to change these negative patterns to improve the way you feel.
Unlike some other talking treatments, CBT deals with your current problems, rather than focusing on issues from your past. It looks for practical ways to improve your state of mind on a daily basis.
